To keep your eyeglasses in optimal condition, it’s important to take care of them. Always lay your glasses down with the lenses facing up, store your glasses in a case when you’re not using them and clean your glasses frequently, the right way.
Step #1
Wash and dry your hands to make sure they’re clean and free from lotions or oils
Step #2
Rinse your glasses in warm water or with an eyeglasses specific spray cleaner to remove dust and debris.
Step #3
Apply a small amount of lotion-free dishwashing liquid to each lens
Step #4
Rub both dies of the lenses all parts of the frame, including nose pads and the ends that rest on your ears
Step #5
Rinse the lenses and frame completely
Step #6
Shake the glasses gently to get rid of excess water
Step #7
Dry lenses with a clean cotton or microfiber cloth
What not to do:
- Don’t use common household cleaner on your lenses – these have chemicals, like ammonia, that may damage lenses and lens coatings.
- Don’t use paper towels, napkins, tissues or toilet paper to clean your lenses – these may scratch or smear your lenses.
- Don’t use your shirts – this may scratch your lenses.
