PROCEDURE: After the eye has been completely numbed using “eye drop” anesthesia, an eyelid holder is placed between the lids to prevent blinking. Next, an instrument called a Femtosecond laser is used to create a protective flap in the cornea. After the protective flap is made a second instrument called a VISX laser is used to reshape the corneal tissue underneath. This treatment will correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. After the laser treatment the protective flap is positioned back into place where it bonds without the need for stitches.
